What Data We Collect
When a customer abandons a checkout session on a merchant's store, we collect:
- Customer email address (only when consent for promotional emails is granted via Stripe Checkout)
- Cart contents (product names, quantities, prices)
- Cart total and currency
- Checkout session metadata from Stripe
How We Use This Data
We use this data solely to send abandoned cart recovery emails on behalf of the merchant. We send up to three reminder emails encouraging the customer to complete their purchase.
Consent
We only send recovery emails to customers who have explicitly granted consent for promotional communications during the Stripe Checkout process. Without this consent, no emails are sent and no customer data is stored.
Data Sharing
We do not sell or share customer data with third parties. Data is shared only with:
- Resend (email delivery provider) to deliver recovery emails
- Cloudflare (infrastructure provider) to store and process data
Data Retention
Session data is retained for 90 days, after which it is automatically deleted. Suppression list entries (unsubscribes) are retained indefinitely to ensure we respect customer preferences.
Data Deletion
Customers can request deletion of their data by contacting the merchant or by using the unsubscribe link in any recovery email. Merchants can request deletion of all their data by uninstalling the app.
Unsubscribe
Every recovery email includes an unsubscribe link. Clicking it immediately stops all future recovery emails for that customer from that merchant.
